Digging through the archives for some stuff to match up a route I’m writing for the mag I found this photie from the walk-out which caused great debate at the time. Who were the wee bugs on the big bugs napper? Children? Must be, aww that’s lovely. Turns out they were hitchhikers, wee mites that latch onto you and go along for the ride.
Upon realising this the apparent beetle family day out then changed to a sci-fi horror story of carrying alien parasites back to your home planet where they will eat your brain etc.
Nature, sometimes it’s better to leave it to your imagination.
Mind the ant driving the caterpillar that day on the Kilpatrick hills too?
I suspect that was a little more sinister that our description of that day now…
Aye, that was another strange one. I wonder where the file of photies for that day is, that’s worth another look.
