Dredd is out today, yet another slice of childhood hangs in the balance. Reviews are good, Carl Urban was a genius choice to play Dredd, the look is a little darker and dirtier than the original 2000AD vision to fit with modern expectations no doubt, but I am optimistic having seen the trailers. Excited.
Note to self: Even if the movie’s good don’t buy a t-shirt.
Mant hated it, but minus the sinful removal of his helmet, I liked Stallone’s Dredd. This one looks like it may be good, but the bikes in the trailer look cheesy. I was a subscriber to 2000AD for around 6 years from the late 70’s to mid 80’s and just hope that Tharg approves.
Doh, ‘Many hated it’!
I liked a lot in Stallone’s version, Max Von Sydow was a perfect chief judge and Mean Angel was straight off the comic book page, but they’re was so much wrong with it as well. I’d hoped for a sequel where they fixed the bad bits, Stallone wasn’t bad Dredd I thought.
Now looking for a babysitter so we can get to the new one. Granny?
I thought maybe Mant was either your dog, goldfish or best pal :o)
Thought I’d stick this here. Google celebrating the 46th anniversary of Star Trek. https://www.google.co.uk/ it’s interactive.
Ha, I like that!
