It keeps several channels afloat by the looks of it. You can’t avoid it, and anyway it’s compulsive viewing. It’s cheap TV, it’s exploitation TV, but it’s also a genuine showcase of the best and worst that people have to offer.
Everytime a fleeing drug dealers car is PIT manoevered into barrier in a shower of sparks and debris, when a DUI drivers face is swung onto the cop cars bonnet and the cuffs are put on, when the rescuer finally reaches the soul in peril and lifts them clear of the raging torrent…my heart sings.
And you know why? For a change it looks like the good guys are winning.
