2010

I had planned to do a review of my year for Hogmanay, I enjoy turning back the metaphorical and actual pages and being prompted into remembering. But not this year, I can remember it all in frightening detail without difficulty, and that’s as far as I’m going to get with a summing up I think. The highs have been vertical, the lows have been their equal and opposite and I find myself just very tired indeed at the end of this year.
Today as a few rays of sun broke through for the first time in a week, my optimism took wings and flew towards 2011. Maybe it’s our ancient neolithic/ sun worshiping/ pagan DNA that marks the new year as a whole new chapter where it should really be just another day, trying to give an understanding and scale to the passage of time.
But whatever illusory page-break midnight brings I’m making the most of it, dancing naked with the druids or not.

Thank you for the wise words, the kind thoughts and the friendship. A heartfelt Happy New Year to us all.

  2. All the best for the new year, Pete and everybody else.

This place feels like a haven of common sense and good humour, like an old-style mountain hut in the middle of a blizzard.

Thanks, good luck, and take care.

  3. Well i’m buying kit already that i didn’t need but WANTED, lol. Just ordered a Rab xenon jacket for £99 off here http://www.outside.co.uk/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/6306%7C%7C~@c~Mens~Sale~Clothing~@b%7C75%7Cuser%7C1,0,0,1%7C160%7C. Looks ideal for year round useage for layering system.
